Soooo...
This was an interesting research indeed, i never realised that this part was so racist.....
The name itself ‘Australia first party’ does suggest some strong views and ideas about Australia and its culture, which begs any Australian interested in politic s or immigration to take a further look as to what exactly this ‘party’ stands for.
Whilst researching the Australia first party and visiting the website I found it to be very passively strong minded about the future that Australia should be taking and that we need to change the path we are headed down in terms of immigration and keeping Australia in their mind
‘Australian’. When extremist group or hate group is mentioned immediately such groups as the ‘kkk’ or the ‘White supremacist’ groups come to my mind, and the violent and anti social nature of these groups is what defines them as well as the obvious; being racist.
‘Australian’. When extremist group or hate group is mentioned immediately such groups as the ‘kkk’ or the ‘White supremacist’ groups come to my mind, and the violent and anti social nature of these groups is what defines them as well as the obvious; being racist. So in comparison to such groups, I don’t believe that the ‘Australia first party’ could be described as an extremist group yet because they have not been involved in aggressive or ‘extreme’ behaviour and have not portrayed any elements that are discussed in the ‘hate and extremism’ article on the Southern Poverty Law Centre website like murders, rallies, protests and fights. They are a diplomatic group that choose their words carefully in an attempt to avoid being labelled as an ‘extremist’ group or a racist ‘party’. For example on their website they use the wording ‘we do not hate immigrants we just hate the policy that allows them to migrate to Australia’ which I believe is a pretty roundabout way of saying they h

ate immigrants, especially non Anglo-Saxon or non Caucasian immigrants. However I do think that they are a group that is not opposed to other people that are exhibiting extremist behaviour or beliefs when it comes to Australia’s identity, they even have a hole section of people’s opinions about Australia’s identity and claim that ‘The views expressed by the authors are not necessarily the views of the Australia First Party. At all times, the AFP encourages debate to define its policy and method. Authors who have allowed reproduction of their articles here are not necessarily members of the AFP.’ An article on the parties website talked about the racial motivated riots of Crunulla in 2005 and did not defend them but did not condemn the either, which makes me think if they are going to put that sort of thing on their website then they must have supported it.

I do defiantly think that this is a group however that is using the internet to recruit new members and spread their ‘activist’ identity movement a mong like minded people, The third paragraph on the homepage encourages people to join the ‘activist group and urge people to regain Australia’s identity’ and it goes on to say in the final words of the homepage ‘you have your country to reclaim’.

In summary, do I believe that the Australia first party could be described as an extremist group? No, but they are a racist one however they want to word it. Is this an example of a group utilising the Internet to spread messages and recruit new members? Yes.
